Warner Music has announced a change of leadership at both its recorded music and publishing businesses in the Benelux region.<\/p>\n
Martin Jessurun is exiting his role as President of Warner Music Benelux after more than 18 years, while Arno Van Berkel is stepping down as Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music Benelux after more than 14 years.<\/p>\n
The two long-time WMG execs will be succeeded by Niels Walboomers, who has been appointed President, Records and Publishing, Benelux at Warner Music Group, effective November, 1.<\/p>\n
In this new role, WMG says that Walboomers will oversee both Warner Music Benelux and Warner Chappell Music Benelux, whose teams will continue to operate separately to each other.<\/p>\n
The respected exec is joining WMG from Sony Music Publishing, where he was Benelux Managing Director for the last 12 years.<\/p>\n
Walboomers will report jointly to Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO, Warner Chappell Music and Simon Robson, President, International, Warner Recorded Music.<\/p>\n
Walboomers will also work closely with the team at Spinnin\u2019 Records. Warner Music Group says it is finalising plans to move all three teams to a new creative hub in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n
Walboomers founded Walboomers Music with his brother in 1996, starting as a music distributor for Hip-Hop, Latin, Reggae and World Music, before becoming an independent label and music publisher, and branching out into artist management.<\/p>\n
He moved over to join Sony Music Publishing in 2010, being appointed as its Benelux Managing Director.<\/p>\n
He and his team worked with Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence, LA-based Grammy-winning producer Tierce \u201cKizzo\u201d Person, Latin Grammy-winning DJ Chuckie, Edison winning artists Kovacs and S10 and Dutch producer Serrano \u201cSRNO\u201d Gaddum, amongst others.<\/p>\n
Walboomers also became a board member of NMUV, the Dutch music publishers\u2019 association, in 2010 and served as Chair between 2014 and 2018.<\/p>\n
He became a board member of BMPA, the Belgian music publishers\u2019 association, in 2014. In addition, he serves as Secretary to the Supervisory Board of Dutch collecting society Buma\/Stemra since 2011.<\/p>\n
Walboomers is also on the advisory boards of the Donemus Foundation, which supports Dutch classical composers, German-based global streaming provider CLIQ Digital and LA-based business management platform Specta Software.<\/p>\n
