{"id":15484,"date":"2015-12-22T08:24:11","date_gmt":"2015-12-22T08:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/?p=15484"},"modified":"2015-12-22T08:24:11","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T08:24:11","slug":"max-lousada-becomes-non-exec-at-instrumental-as-warner-invests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/max-lousada-becomes-non-exec-at-instrumental-as-warner-invests\/","title":{"rendered":"Max Lousada becomes non-exec at Instrumental as Warner invests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warner Music has invested in Conrad Withey&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareinstrumental.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Instrumental<\/a>, the artist discovery and development startup focused on talent emerging on social media.<\/p>\n<p>As well as taking a stake in the company, Warner will collaborate with Instrumental non-exclusively on a range of activities including A&amp;R, artist development, YouTube channel management, release promotion, brand and content partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally <span class=\"il\">Warner<\/span> will have first refusal on talent represented by Instrumental Artists &#8211; the company&#8217;s newly established management arm.<\/p>\n<p>Max Lousada, Chairman and CEO of <span class=\"il\">Warner<\/span> Music UK (pictured), will join the board of Instrumental as a non-executive director, alongside current board members Bill Roedy (ex Chairman of MTV International), Stewart Easterbrook (ex CEO of Starcom EMEA) and tech entrepreneur Michael Tobin OBE.<\/p>\n<p>London-based Instrumental focuses on rising music stars in the social space and provides support to talent signing up to its exclusive<b> <\/b>platform to develop<s> <\/s>their music careers and commercial potential.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The multichannel network space is somewhere that fans and creators are connecting in rapidly growing numbers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Max Lousada, Warner Music<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since launching, the Instrumental talent network has grown to over 300 artist partnerships around the world and its creative agency arm has delivered campaigns for major brands including Vodafone, Head &amp; Shoulders, Citroen, Studio Canal and Brand Attic.<\/p>\n<p>Conrad Withey, CEO of Instrumental and a former President of Warner Music Entertainment (WME), commented: &#8220;This is an extremely exciting development for the business.
