BandLab Technologies\u2019 portfolio includes flagship social music creation platform BandLab, music production software Cakewalk, artist services platform ReverbNation, and beat marketplace Airbit.<\/p>\n
The company\u00a0acquired<\/a> Airbit in February 2023, and Reverbnation in 2021<\/a>. It acquired certain assets and the complete intellectual property of Cakewalk Inc. from Gibson Brands in 2018.<\/p>\n BandLab\u00a0rebranded<\/a> Cakewalk in June 2023, and unveiled new branding<\/a> for artist services platform ReverbNation in early 2023.<\/p>\n The company’s flagship namesake platform (BandLab) offers a range of features such as the cross-platform digital audio workstation Studio, royalty-free sample and loops service Sounds, and the AI music generator tool SongStarter. The app has over 60 million registered users<\/a>.<\/p>\n In August 2023, the company unveiled what it said was \u201ca comprehensive rebrand\u201d.<\/p>\n The company launched a new corporate website<\/a>, which it said will serve as a central hub for its music technology offerings.<\/p>\n BandLab formed parent company<\/a>\u00a0Caldecott Music Group in 2021 to house three divisions: BandLab Technologies, Vista Musical Instruments, and\u00a0NME Networks<\/a>.<\/p>\n The rebrand followed the company\u2019s $25 million<\/strong>\u00a0Series B1\u00a0funding round<\/a>\u00a0that raised the company valuation to\u00a0$425 million<\/strong>\u00a0post-money.<\/p>\n That latest investment followed the company\u2019s successful Series B round in April 2022, where BandLab\u00a0raised $65 million<\/a>\u00a0and achieved a post-money valuation of $315 million.<\/p>\n In August 2023, BandLab became<\/a>\u00a0the first music creation platform to support ethical AI alliance, the Human Artistry Campaign.<\/p>\n In October 2023, Universal Music Group (UMG) and BandLab Technologies announced<\/a> plans for what they call \u201can expansive, industry-first strategic relationship concentrated on artificial intelligence\u201d.<\/p>\n Also in October, BandLab Technologies appointed<\/a> Drew Silverstein as Senior Advisor, AI, Innovation, and Strategy. The exec was the Co-founder and former CEO of AI-driven music platform Amper Music and former VP of Music at Shutterstock.
