cinematic vision, we are confident in delivering impactful and unforgettable experiences.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Vinit Thakkar, Sony Music Entertainment India<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Both Sony Music Entertainment India and Maddock Films have a proven track record of creating chart-topping hits, making this our most significant music collaboration to date,\u201d Maddock Films Founder <strong>Dinesh Vijan<\/strong> added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the next two years, we are committed to building the industry&#8217;s most dynamic and successful music partnership.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The partnership comes just a few weeks after Sony Music Entertainment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/sony-music-entertainment-strikes-jv-with-d36-to-break-south-asian-music-globally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entered into a global joint venture<\/a> with Los Angeles-based label <strong>D36<\/strong>, which focuses on music from South Asian and the South Asian diaspora.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #2\" data-params=\"dfp_spu2\" id=\"dfp_spu2\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/span><\/p>\n<p>That follows SME\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/sony-music-launches-sony-entertainment-talent-ventures-india-jv-with-sony-pictures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launching of a joint venture<\/a> with <strong>Sony Pictures India<\/strong> in 2022 called <strong>Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures India<\/strong> (<strong>SETVI<\/strong>), an entertainment company focused on creating \u201cventures for media talent in India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sony\u2019s publishing arm has also been busy in the region, signing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/indias-tips-music-inks-global-deal-with-sony-music-publishing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a global publishing agreement<\/a> last year with India\u2019s <strong>Tips Music<\/strong>, which is behind some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters of the 90s and 2000s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sony Music Publishing<\/strong> also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/sony-music-publishing-strikes-global-deal-with-india-based-record-label-big-bang-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed a deal<\/a> last year with Indian label <strong>Big Bang Music<\/strong>, under which SMP administers and promoted Big Bang\u2019s songs globally.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We are committed to building the industry&#8217;s most dynamic and successful music partnership.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Dinesh Vijan, Maddock Films<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sony\u2019s expansion in the Indian music market comes amid a remarkable boom in music consumption in India, and consumption of Indian music worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>According to the IFPI\u2019s latest annual <a href=\"https:\/\/globalmusicreport.ifpi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>, India recorded <strong>15.3%<\/strong> growth in music revenue in 2023, making it the 14th largest global market.<\/p>\n<p>In a report earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/global-consumption-of-indian-music-soared-2000-in-5-years-on-spotify12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Spotify<\/strong> said<\/a> consumption of Indian music on its platform grew by <strong>2,000%<\/strong> between 2018 and 2023.<\/p>\n<p>And while the Indian music market remains considerably smaller than the US\u2019s, in terms of consumption, it could soon be larger.
