That same year, <em>Feels So Good<\/em> was nominated for <strong>Record of the Year<\/strong>. That track reached the top 5 on the US charts and propelled the album of the same name to number 2 on the <strong>Billboard 200<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A five-decade veteran of the music scene, Mangione first attracted attention as a trumpet-playing member of the band <strong>The Jazz Brothers<\/strong>, in which he played with his brother, Gap. The band released three albums in the early 1960s. He then signed with <strong>A&amp;M Records<\/strong>, which led to the release of some of his most popular work, including <em>Chase The Clouds Away<\/em> and <em>Bellavia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Mangione continued working through the 1980s and 1990s, and only retired from music in 2015.
