{"id":220885,"date":"2025-01-17T13:14:19","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T13:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/?p=220885"},"modified":"2025-01-21T17:55:06","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T17:55:06","slug":"billie-eilish-joni-mitchell-and-stevie-nicks-among-superstars-to-headline-fireaid-concerts-in-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/billie-eilish-joni-mitchell-and-stevie-nicks-among-superstars-to-headline-fireaid-concerts-in-los-angeles\/","title":{"rendered":"Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks among superstars to headline FireAid benefit concerts in Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shelli and Irving Azoff, and the Azoff family, have teamed up with Live Nation and AEG Presents to host two benefit concerts to raise funds for communities devastated by the ongoing wildfires in Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>Among the headliners for <strong>FireAid<\/strong>, as the concert has been dubbed, are <strong>Billie Eilish<\/strong> and <strong>Finneas<\/strong>, <strong>Earth, Wind &amp; Fire<\/strong>, <strong>Gracie Abrams<\/strong>, <strong>Green Day<\/strong>, <strong>Gwen Stefani<\/strong>, <strong>Jelly Roll<\/strong>, <strong>Joni Mitchell<\/strong>, <strong>Katy Perry<\/strong>, <strong>Lady Gaga<\/strong>, <strong>Lil Baby<\/strong>, <strong>P!nk<\/strong>, <strong>Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong>, <strong>Rod Stewart<\/strong>, <strong>Sting<\/strong>, <strong>Stephen Stills<\/strong>, <strong>Stevie Nicks<\/strong>, and <strong>Tate McRae<\/strong>. The <strong>LA Clippers<\/strong> will cover the \u201cmillions in expenses\u201d associated with the event, so that all proceeds raised can go to fire relief efforts, organizers said.<\/p>\n<p>The concert\u2019s announcement comes as some of the wildfires in the L.A. area continue to rage, notably one in Pacific Palisades and another in Altadena (the Eaton Fire).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #2\" data-params=\"dfp_spu2\" id=\"dfp_spu2\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/span><\/p>\n<p>As of last count, the fires have taken <strong>27 lives<\/strong>, destroyed <strong>12,000 structures<\/strong>, and burned more than <strong>60 square miles<\/strong>, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/live-updates\/la-fires-southern-california-containment-efforts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update<\/a> at <em>CBS News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Weather and climate news service <em>AccuWeather<\/em> recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/press\/extreme-fire-risk-in-southern-california-as-powerful-santa-ana-winds-return\/1733516\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimated<\/a> that the economic loss caused by the fires will add up to between <strong>$250 billion<\/strong> and <strong>$275 billion<\/strong>, though some economists have said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/economists-say-los-angeles-fire-have-limited-national-economic-impact-2025-01-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impact will be limited<\/a> outside Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the devastation and ongoing danger, many music companies and industry groups have canceled their <strong>Grammy Week<\/strong> events, among them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/universal-cancels-all-grammy-related-events-including-annual-artist-showcase-major-will-redirect-funds-to-those-affected-by-los-angeles-wildfires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Universal Music Group<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/sony-music-to-cancel-all-grammy-week-events-redirect-efforts-and-funds-to-wildfire-relief-efforts-in-los-angeles12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Sony Music Entertainment<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/while-grammys-show-goes-on-bmg-nmpa-billboard-friends-n-family-and-others-join-in-canceling-events1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BMG<\/strong>, <strong>NMPA\/Billboard<\/strong>,\u00a0 <strong>Downtown<\/strong><\/a> and Primary Wave.
