Four months later, HYBE Latin America <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/hybe-expands-to-latin-america-appointing-industry-veteran-fernando-grediaga-as-general-manager12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appointed<\/a> <b>Fernando Grediaga<\/b> as General Manager.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #1\" data-params=\"dfp_spu1\" id=\"dfp_spu1\"><\/div>      <\/div>      \n<p>Speaking to <i>Billboard Espa\u00f1ol<\/i>, Grediaga\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/hybe-latin-america-launches-label-meme-del-real-first-artist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that &#8220;while HYBE may be new to the Latin market, we bring substantial experience and success from our operations in Korea, Japan, and the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;While HYBE may be new to the Latin market, we bring substantial experience and success from our operations in Korea, Japan, and the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fernando Grediaga, HYBE Latin America<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">In August 2024, HYBE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/hybe-the-home-of-bts-restructures-global-business-as-part-of-new-strategy-called-hybe-2-0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> it would continue to implement its \u201cmulti-home, multi-genre\u201d strategy in the US, Japan, and Latin America. HYBE CEO <b>Jason Jaesang Lee<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/hybe-wants-to-change-fan-culture-in-us-latin-music-and-4-other-things-we-learned-on-the-companys-latest-earnings-call1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reiterated<\/a> this plan in November 2024, saying HYBE LatAm is \u201cpreparing to debut a localized band, which can mark a starting point of [the] fandom business in Latin America, where consumption of Latin genre music can be developed into a more complex culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">HYBE\u2019s Latin Music strategy comes as the K-pop company seeks to capitalize on the growing genre. In the first half of 2024, Latin Music revenues in the US <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/latin-music-generated-a-record-685m-in-us-recorded-music-revenues-in-the-first-half-of-2024-up-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jumped<\/a> <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>7.3% YoY <\/b><\/span>to<b> $685.5 million<\/b>, setting an all-time first-half record, according to the <b>RIAA<\/b>\u2018s Mid-Year 2024 Latin Music Revenue Report.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\">The global expansion could help HYBE shift its focus outside its home market as it faces challenges involving its label <strong>ADOR<\/strong>. The dispute between HYBE and K-pop group <strong>NewJeans<\/strong> escalated recently, with the group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/k-pop-group-newjeans-hires-law-firm-plans-name-change-as-hybe-dispute-escalates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appointing<\/a> law firm <strong>Shin &amp; Kim LLC<\/strong> to represent them in their legal battle against ADOR and HYBE.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The five-member group announced in January that they have no plans to return to ADOR amid the ongoing contract dispute.
