The company represents more than 7,000 artists.<\/p>\n<p>WMG first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/warner-invests-in-africa-based-music-distributor-africori-launching-global-partnership-with-ada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invested in Johannesburg-headquartered Africori<\/a> in 2020. to allow Africori artists and songs to be upstreamed into the global Warner Music network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #1\" data-params=\"dfp_spu1\" id=\"dfp_spu1\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p>WMG said that the first global success from its partnership with Africori came from the upstreaming of Master KG\u2019s 2020 hit <em>Jerusalema, <\/em>which has over <strong>435 million<\/strong> streams on Spotify alone.<\/p>\n<p>Other successes include five-time Platinum status in South Africa for TitoM &amp; (It was also the fastest-growing music region <a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/global-recorded-music-revenues-reached-26-2bn-in-2022-up-9-yoy1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 2022.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Recorded music revenues in Sub-Saharan Africa grew by\u00a0<strong>24.7%\u00a0<\/strong>in 2023, fuelled by a <strong>24.5%<\/strong>\u00a0rise in paid streaming revenues.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa was the largest market in the region, contributing 77% of regional revenues after seeing of <strong>19.9% YoY<\/strong> in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere at Africori, the company&#8217;s artists have held the No.1 spot on the South African Radiomonitor charts for 11 consecutive weeks, thanks to hit tracks like <em>Sdakiwe Sbali<\/em>, <em>Ndsize<\/em>, and <em>Vuka<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Africori-distributed tracks also make up 50% of the BMAT Top 10 rankings and over the past weekend claimed the top six spots on the Apple Music South Africa charts.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Last week, on WMG&#8217;s calendar Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Robert Kyncl noted how the company is \u201cpartnering with local players&#8221; as part of the company&#8217;s &#8220;ongoing efforts to generate increased market share\u201d globally.<\/p>\n<p>Other recent deals struck by WMG with local players globally include a<span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">\u00a0minority stake in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/warner-acquires-minority-stake-in-india-based-live-entertainment-and-ticketing-platform-skillbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skillbox in India<\/a> and<\/span> the acquisition of indie label <a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/warner-music-group-acquires-amsterdam-based-indie-label-cloud-9-recordings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cloud 9 in Benelux<\/a>.
