Dave Cobb, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning producer, who UMG noted at the time, has \u201chad significant influence on the sound of Music City\u201d, was appointed Chief Creative Officer.<\/strong><\/p>\n Most recently, according to UMG, under the leadership of Harris and Cobb, the newly minted MCA<\/strong> enters “a new era with a bold vision for Nashville\u2019s future”.<\/p>\n Alongside the news of the rebrand, MCA has strengthened its executive team, appointing Katie McCartney<\/strong> as EVP\/General Manager.<\/p>\n Tom LaScola<\/strong> will serve as Head of Artist and Audience Strategy through an “enhanced alliance” with his company, THE TRENCHES, which inked a partnership<\/a> with UMG’s Republic Collective in October.<\/p>\n As one of Cobb\u2019s first key initiatives, the company has also announced a new creative strategic alliance dedicated to supporting and developing homegrown Nashville songwriting talent, naming Jessie Jo Dillon<\/strong> as the newly minted Song Buddy.<\/p>\n MCA said that this “bespoke position reflects a deep commitment to the vital role songwriters play in the local creative ecosystem”.<\/p>\n UMG says that the MCA portfolio will “continue to operate and support” frontline labels Mercury Nashville, EMI Nashville, Capitol Nashville and MCA Nashville along with the newly launched Lucille Records.<\/p>\n Lucille Records was founded by Cobb and spearheaded by Austin Jenkins, SVP of A&R for MCA and Head of Lucille. That\u2019s what this is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n Harris and Cobb’s <\/strong>appointments in February followed the departure<\/a> of Cindy Mabe, Chair and CEO of UMG Nashville since April 2023.<\/p>\n Other recent C-suite changes at the major record companies in Nashville included Taylor Lindsey\u2019s recent promotion<\/a>\u00a0to Chairman and CEO at\u00a0Sony Music<\/a> Nashville.<\/strong><\/p>\n Lindsey succeeded\u00a0Randy<\/strong>\u00a0Goodman<\/strong>, who, as announced in September, retired at the end of 2024<\/a>\u00a0after more than 35 years in the music industry.<\/p>\n Also, in April 2023, John \u201cEspo\u201d Esposito exited<\/a>\u00a0Warner Music<\/a>\u00a0Nashville after 14 years as the company\u2019s leader. He\u00a0was succeeded<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Ben Kline<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Cris Lacy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In September,\u00a0Warner Music Group<\/a>\u00a0veteran\u00a0Gregg Nadel<\/a>, who most recently served as President of\u00a0Elektra<\/a>\u00a0Entertainment,\u00a0was appointed<\/a>\u00a0Co-Chair & Co-President of\u00a0Warner Music<\/a>\u00a0Nashville. He will work alongside\u00a0Cris Lacy<\/strong>, who has been co-head of\u00a0WMN<\/strong>\u00a0for the past two years and marks her 20th anniversary with the company next year.
