Stat Of the Week is supported by\u00a0music data analytics firm\u00a0<a class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/chartmetric.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Chartmetric<\/a>.\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\n<p class=\"p1\">Paris-headquartered royalty collection society Sacem collected a combined EUR \u20ac1.6 billion (USD $1.73 billion at the average exchange rate for 2024) in France and overseas last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">International revenues surged <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>15% YoY<\/b><\/span> to <b>\u20ac749 million<\/b> (<strong>$810.57m<\/strong>), accounting for nearly half the society&#8217;s collections as <b>Sacem<\/b> expanded its digital footprint across streaming platforms and social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Domestic collections, meanwhile, inched up <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>2% YoY<\/b><\/span> to <b>\u20ac852 million <\/b>(<strong>$922.03m<\/strong>), continuing a pattern of slow growth. Domestic collections were \u20ac835 million in 2023 and \u20ac832 million in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Combined revenues were up<b> 7.7%<\/b> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/sacems-revenues-rose-5-to-1-61bn-in-2023-board-renews-term-of-ceo-cecile-rap-veber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> <b>\u20ac1.487 billion<\/b> (<strong>$1.61 billion<\/strong>) in 2023. These investments included financing for <b>1,200<\/b> concerts in small municipalities, <b>478<\/b> festivals, and <b>185<\/b> performance venues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rap-Veber added: \u201cBut while our work extends internationally, it is deeply rooted in local communities. Throughout France, Sacem supports thousands of projects &#8212; festivals, concerts, residencies, educational and community initiatives &#8212; to bring music to life where it is created, shared and enjoyed. In a society weakened by social, generational and geographical divisions, we believe that music has an essential role to play: to create bonds, raise awareness and give everyone the opportunity to express themselves and access culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #3\" data-params=\"dfp_spu3\" id=\"dfp_spu3\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Looking ahead, Sacem plans to launch the <b>Sacem Endowment Fund <\/b>in the second half of 2025 to generate additional resources for \u201ccreation, arts education and the transmission of knowledge.\u201d Sacem is also developing a networking platform called<b> Collab+<\/b>, slated for launch in six months, to connect authors, composers and music publishers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Earlier this year, Sacem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/deezer-partners-with-sacem-to-adopt-artist-centric-payment-model-for-publishing-rights-in-france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">partnered<\/a> with music streaming platform <b>Deezer<\/b> to implement an artist-centric payment system for publishing rights across Deezer\u2019s platform in France.
