Sony Music is once again expanding its presence in the booming Indian music market, with Sony Music India forming a joint venture with Los Angeles-headquartered The Hello Group.<\/p>\n
The new THG India<\/strong> aims to fill what Sony calls a \u201ccritical gap\u201d in sophisticated talent management and live touring infrastructure in India.<\/p>\n The JV will leverage Sony Music India\u2019s network and expertise in the South Asian market with THG\u2019s expertise in live touring and artist management.<\/p>\n Founded in 2016 by A&R executive Taylor Jones<\/strong>, who serves as CEO, The Hello Group in an entertainment industry holding company that operates 16 businesses.<\/p>\n Among those businesses are Hello Management<\/strong>, label services company Hello Music<\/strong>, and THG Publishing<\/strong>, which launched in 2018 with administration by Sony Music Publishing<\/strong>, and is known for a catalog that includes songs from prominent K-pop bands like BTS<\/strong>, NCT 127<\/strong>, ITZY<\/strong>, IVE<\/strong>, Tomorrow X Together<\/strong>, ENHYPHEN<\/strong> and TWICE<\/strong>, as well as artists such as Steve Aoki<\/strong> and The Chainsmokers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The company\u2019s booking agency has booked shows and tours for artists including Jeff Satur<\/strong>, Mark Ambor<\/strong>, I.M<\/strong> (of MONSTA X<\/strong>), Matt Steffanina<\/strong>, Sunkis<\/strong>, Greyson Chance<\/strong>, EMEI<\/strong>, C-Kan<\/strong>, Kang Daniel<\/strong>, and others.<\/p>\n Vinit Thakkar<\/strong>, Managing Director, Sony Music India, described the new joint venture as a \u201cgreat moment\u201d for the Indian music industry.<\/p>\n \u201cTHG India marks our first international collaboration of this scale right here in India, and it serves as a critical bridge,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cBy combining THG\u2019s strength in global live touring and their international network with our deep local expertise, we are strategically empowering Indian artists with the resources, seasoned management, and global network essential to truly accelerate their careers and resonate on the international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n “We are strategically empowering Indian artists with the resources, seasoned management, and global network essential to truly accelerate their careers and resonate on the international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n Vinit Thakkar, Sony Music India<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n THG\u2019s Jones added: \u201cThe Indian music scene boasts an incredible wealth of talent, and its global influence is undeniable. The partnership was renewed<\/a> earlier this year.
