Concord [453 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/concord\/\">Concord Music Group<\/a>), Dave Hansen (Executive Chairman of\u00a0<a class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Merlin [358 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/merlin\/\">Merlin<\/a>\u00a0and former GM of Epitaph),\u00a0<a class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"People &gt; Charles Caldas [65 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/people\/charles-caldas\/\">Charles Caldas<\/a>\u00a0(former CEO of Merlin),\u00a0<a class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"People &gt; Amy Dietz [30 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/people\/amy-dietz\/\">Amy Dietz<\/a> (former GM of Ingrooves) and John Burk (Grammy-winning producer and former President of Concord Records).<\/p>\n<p>To date, Exceleration has acquired or formed &#8220;strategic relationships&#8221; with independents including +1 Records, Alligator, Azadi, Bloodshot, Candid, Down The Road, Heroic, Kill Rock Stars, Mack Avenue, Mom+Pop, Redeye Worldwide, SideOneDummy, The Ray Charles Foundation\/ Tangerine Records and Yep Roc Records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #2\" data-params=\"dfp_spu2\" id=\"dfp_spu2\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Exceleration said that the acquisition of <strong>Cooking Vinyl<\/strong> brings together &#8220;two influential forces in the independent music sector.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The deal arrives less than two years after Exceleration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/redeye-distribution-partner-of-beggars-domino-and-other-leading-indie-labels-acquired-by-exceleration-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> independent digital and physical distribution\/services company Redeye.<\/p>\n<p>According to the companies, Cooking Vinyl will integrate into Redeye\u2019s distribution platform and gain access to Exceleration\u2019s global infrastructure, &#8220;significantly expanding its growth opportunities worldwide&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Exceleration also said it will tap into Cooking Vinyl\u2019s &#8220;renowned artist marketing expertise,&#8221; while crediting Cooking Vinyl as &#8220;the originator of artist services with its signing of Billy Bragg in 1993, and a proven worldwide leader in the field&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking Vinyl Publishing UK, Cooking Vinyl Publishing Australia and Motus Music are not included within the acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition comes during what Exceleration called &#8220;one of the most successful and dynamic periods&#8221; in Cooking Vinyl&#8217;s nearly four-decade history. In 2024, the company achieved two No.1 UK albums for the same artist with <strong>Shed Seven<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Previous No.1 albums for Cooking Vinyl include releases by <strong>Passenger<\/strong> and <strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Prodigy<\/strong>.
