Los Angeles-headquartered music publishing and record company Seeker Music has acquired the catalog of British \u00a0R&B singer Jay Sean, and that of his longtime collaborator Robert \u201cBobby Bass\u201d Larow.<\/p>\n
The company has also announced it acquired the publishing catalog of American producer Carl McCormick<\/strong>, aka, Cardiak<\/strong>. The value of the transactions was not disclosed.<\/p>\n Seeker, which was founded by M&G Investments and is led by songwriter Evan Bogart, says the catalog acquisitions reflect two of its core tenets: A focus on enduring modern-day hits and global expansion.<\/p>\n Jay Sean holds the distinction of being the first solo artist of South Asian extraction to top Billboard<\/em>\u2019s Hot 100, and the only one to hold two simultaneous top 10 tracks. His hits include tracks like Down<\/em> feat. Lil Wayne<\/strong> and Do You Remember<\/em> feat. Sean Paul<\/strong> and Lil Jon<\/strong>, both of which Larow co-wrote and produced.<\/p>\n Sean’s track Ride It<\/em> was remixed by DJ Regard<\/strong> in 2019 and went viral on TikTok, landing Platinum certification in the US and 3x Platinum in the UK.<\/p>\n As a collaborator, Sean has worked with the likes of Gucci Mane<\/strong>, Mary J. Blige<\/strong>, Pitbull<\/strong>, Craig David<\/strong> and others. He\u2019s known as a pioneer of Punjabi-Pop fusion, and a member of the Rishi Rich Project<\/strong>. He was the recipient of the BMI Songwriter Award<\/strong> in 2009.
