Stat Of the Week is supported by\u00a0music data analytics firm\u00a0<a class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/chartmetric.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Chartmetric<\/a>.\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\n<p>Oasis officially kicked off the UK leg of their Oasis Live \u201925 world tour over the weekend, performing two sold-out nights at Cardiff&#8217;s <strong>74,500<\/strong>-cap Principality Stadium on Friday and Saturday (July 4-5).<\/p>\n<p>The next stop on the Oasis Live &#8217;25 tour is their hometown of Manchester, where Oasis are scheduled to play five sold-out dates to <strong>80,000<\/strong> people each night in the city&#8217;s Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 16, 19, and 20.<\/p>\n<p>Following the band&#8217;s first concerts since 2009, they saw a<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong> 320%<\/strong><\/span> surge in streams of their music globally on Spotify, the platform confirmed this week.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__tweeny hidden-xs hidden-ms hidden-sm\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"992 1200 1440\" data-name=\"628x90 Sponsor banner #3 (992+1200+1440)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_628\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_628\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__banner mb-advert__banner--inline hidden-xs hidden-sm hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"480\" data-name=\"468x60 Sponsor banner #3 (480)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_468\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_468\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__mobile mb-advert__mobile--inline hidden-ms hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"320 768\" data-name=\"300x50 Sponsor banner #3 (320+768)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_300\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_300\"><\/div>      <\/div>      \n<p class=\"whitespace-normal break-words\">Spotify has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DL0ReexxZvk\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a> a list of songs from Oasis&#8217; live setlist that saw some of the biggest increases in streams globally on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>The track with the largest increase was <em>Hello, <\/em>streams of which soared <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">1,115%<\/span><\/strong> globally on Spotify following the first weekend of the Oasis Live &#8217;25 Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Global streams of <em>Bring It On Down <\/em>and <em>Fade Away &#8211; Remastered <\/em>each surged <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>1,000%<\/strong><\/span> respectively, while streams of <em>Acquiesce &#8211; Remastered<\/em> soared <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>760%<\/strong><\/span> globally.<\/p>\n<p>Streams of <em>Cigarettes &amp; Alcohol <\/em>were up<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <strong>490%<\/strong> <\/span>globally after the weekend, while <em>Morning Glory <\/em>and <em>Some Might Say <\/em>were up<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"> 485%<\/span> <\/strong>and <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>480%<\/strong> <\/span>respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The iconic 1990s Britpop band is also experiencing a resurgence in popularity on Spotify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@todayshow\/post\/DL3Ia5wRSOt\/the-data-is-in-and-oasis-reigned-supreme-after-kicking-off-opening-week-of-their\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with Gen Z listeners<\/a>, which accounted for more than<strong> 50%<\/strong> of Oasis&#8217; <strong>16.6 million<\/strong> new listeners on the platform this year.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.chartmetric.com\/artist\/912\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chartmetric data<\/a>, Oasis attained <strong>5,882<\/strong> new Spotify followers on July 1, 2025 (four days prior to the first reunion show), marking a<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <strong>154%<\/strong> <\/span>increase from their regular growth on the platform.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #3\" data-params=\"dfp_spu3\" id=\"dfp_spu3\"><\/div>      <\/div>      \n<p>UK music licensing company PPL has also published a set of impressive stats about Oasis&#8217; music today (July 9).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to PPL data, Oasis tracks have generated over <strong>seven years<\/strong> of cumulative airplay (on radio and TV) in the band&#8217;s home market since <b>2000<\/b>, averaging roughly <b>120<\/b> <b>daily<\/b> <b>plays<\/b> across the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">PPL says it also reviewed the impact of Oasis\u2019 announcements to the band\u2019s presence on radio and TV. The firm said Oasis\u2019 announcement of a 30th anniversary edition of\u00a0<i>Definitely Maybe<\/i> in May 2024 and its August 2024 announcement of a reunion tour both \u201chad a swift effect\u201d on the band\u2019s airplay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"il\">The org also revealed<\/span> that <em>Don\u2019t Look Back In Anger<\/em> is Oasis\u2019s most played track on UK radio and TV in the 21st century. It is closely followed by <em>Wonderwall<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Both tracks are from the band\u2019s second studio album,<b>\u00a0<\/b><b><i>(What&#8217;s the Story) Morning Glory?, <\/i><\/b>released in October 1995.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Don&#8217;t Look Back In Anger <\/i>was written by Oasis\u2019 lead guitarist and chief songwriter <b>Noel Gallagher<\/b>, and was produced by him and <b>Owen<\/b> <b>Morris<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On Spotify, <i>Wonderwall <\/i>has generated nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/5qqabIl2vWzo9ApSC317sa?si=92e5469692574437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>2.4 billion<\/b> streams<\/a> to date, while <i>Don&#8217;t Look Back In Anger<\/i>\u2019s streams only accounted for less than half of the other hit song at<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/0UvCh63URrLFcPkKt99hHd?si=154d35b4c07d40fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b> 1.1 billion<\/b> streams<\/a>.
