Now it&#8217;s secured investment and IP from Reservoir Media to create more music experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immersive entertainment is big business.<\/p>\n<p>The global immersive entertainment market was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandviewresearch.com\/industry-analysis\/immersive-entertainment-market-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">valued at over $100 billion<\/a> in 2024 and is expected to be worth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandviewresearch.com\/industry-analysis\/immersive-entertainment-market-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">over $400 billion by 2030.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the companies operating in this space is <strong>Lightroom<\/strong>, a London-based firm that creates IP-led immersive entertainment experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Music-themed Lightroom productions have included a <strong>Billie Eilish<\/strong> album launch for <em>Hit Me Hard and Soft<\/em> in partnership with <strong>Spotify,<\/strong> and <strong>Coldplay\u2019s<\/strong> A Film for the Future, the exclusive 360\u00b0 visual accompaniment to the band\u2019s No.1 album <em>Moon Music<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lightroom.uk\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lightroom<\/a> is backed by a group of investors led by Sir Len Blavatnik (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessindustries.com\/entertainment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">founder of Access Industries),<\/a> represented by Danny Cohen, President of Access Entertainment, and Mike Sherwood, former co-CEO of Goldman Sachs International. (Access Industries&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessindustries.com\/global-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investments<\/a> also include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/who-owns-warner-music-group-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warner Music Group<\/a>, Deezer and DAZN).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Today (July 17), we learn that <strong>Lightroom<\/strong> has attracted more investment, this time from a prominent independent music company, <strong>Reservoir Media.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__tweeny hidden-xs hidden-ms hidden-sm\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"992 1200 1440\" data-name=\"628x90 Sponsor banner #5 (992+1200+1440)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor5_628\" id=\"dfp_sponsor5_628\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__banner mb-advert__banner--inline hidden-xs hidden-sm hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"480\" data-name=\"468x60 Sponsor banner #5 (480)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor5_468\" id=\"dfp_sponsor5_468\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__mobile mb-advert__mobile--inline hidden-ms hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"320 768\" data-name=\"300x50 Sponsor banner #5 (320+768)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor5_300\" id=\"dfp_sponsor5_300\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the opportunities in the immersive entertainment space, Reservoir Founder and Chief Executive Officer Golnar Khosrowshahi said today that the company sees &#8220;meaningful opportunity in this high-growth vertical&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release announcing the deal, as part of the investment, New York-headquartered Reservoir will provide &#8220;best-in-class IP&#8221; for Lightroom\u2019s immersive experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Khosrowshahi added that Reservoir&#8217;s investment is &#8220;an opportunity to enhance the value of our music assets, capitalizing on milestone moments, as well as our evergreen music catalog, to create shows rooted in IP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #1\" data-params=\"dfp_spu1\" id=\"dfp_spu1\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p>The investment in Lightroom arrives a month after <a class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Reservoir [287 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/reservoir\/\">Reservoir<\/a> struck \u201ca multifaceted deal\u201d with independent record label Fool\u2019s Gold Records in a deal that saw Reservoir acquire the catalog master rights of the label\u2019s artists A-Trak, Danny Brown, Grande Marshall, The Brothers Macklovitch, and Low Pros.<\/p>\n<p>Reservoir\u00a0<a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/reservoir-buys-tommy-boy-music-in-100m-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a>\u00a0Tommy Boy Music in 2021 in a deal valued at approximately\u00a0<strong>$100 million<\/strong>. In February, the company\u00a0<a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/reservoir-acquires-uk-dance-electronic-label-new-state-music1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> UK dance and electronic label New State, and the label\u2019s entire recorded music catalog of over 13,000 tracks. Reservoir\u00a0<a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/the-iconic-chrysalis-records-has-a-new-home-at-fast-growing-reservoir\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a>\u00a0the Chrysalis Records catalog for an undisclosed fee in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Reservoir revealed in May that it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/reservoir-spent-115m-on-acquisitions-and-advances-in-its-latest-fiscal-year-while-its-revenues-jumped-10-yoy-to-158-7m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spent<\/a> over $115 million on acquisitions and advances in its latest fiscal year (ended March 31, 2025).
