WME’s Worldwide Head of Music Marc Geiger is leaving the agency after 17 years, it was confirmed yesterday (June 25).<\/p>\n
Award-winning British music agent Lucy Dickins (pictured) has been promoted to the position of co-head of Music.<\/p>\n
Dickins previously served as Head of the company\u2019s UK Music division since June<\/a> last year,\u00a0 after leaving behind her role at ITB (International Talent Booking) in London, where she had worked for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n Kirk Sommer and Scott Clayton will retain their roles as Co-Heads.<\/p>\n WME Co-Head of Music Sara Newkirk Simon, meanwhile, will now take on a consultancy position at Endeavor, WME’s parent company.<\/p>\n A report published by Hits<\/em><\/a> last month suggested that Geiger was in talks with Spotify for a “high profile” role at the streaming company, which he subsequently denied<\/a>.<\/p>\n Geiger originally joined WME in 2003.<\/p>\n \u201cScott, Lucy and Kirk have distinguished themselves through the artists they have championed, the reputations they\u2019ve built, and the leadership they\u2019ve demonstrated at WME.”<\/p>\n Lloyd Braun, Endeavor<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Lloyd Braun, president of Endeavor\u2019s Representation businesses, said: \u201cUnder Marc\u2019s leadership, WME\u2019s Music division has become a global powerhouse.<\/p>\n \u201cDuring his tenure, Marc led countless agency initiatives and \u2018firsts\u2019 for the music industry, including the creation of festivals and EDM divisions and building out WME\u2019s leading London and Sydney music teams.<\/p>\n “We thank Marc for his countless contributions to WME and wish him all the best going forward.”<\/p>\n Added Braun: \u201cScott, Lucy and Kirk have distinguished themselves through the artists they have championed, the reputations they\u2019ve built, and the leadership they\u2019ve demonstrated at WME.<\/p>\n \u201cEach brings unique experience, relationships and perspective that will help shape the future of our Music division.<\/p>\n \u201cThe past seventeen years have been an incredible ride, and I\u2019ve been fortunate to work with some of the world\u2019s best artists and colleagues.”<\/p>\n Marc Geiger\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Geiger added: \u201cThe past seventeen years have been an incredible ride, and I\u2019ve been fortunate to work with some of the world\u2019s best artists and colleagues.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m proud of all that we accomplished, most especially the team we built during my time with the agency.
