Jamie Oborne is the founder of UK-based independent record label Dirty Hit and management company All On Red Management.<\/p>\n
Oborne launched Dirty Hit in 2009 alongside co-founders Brian Smith and the late Ugo Ehiogu.<\/p>\n
Growing up in Islington (London) and East Barnet, Oborne initially embarked on a career as a performing artist in his late teens and early 20s before going to study Philosophy and contemporary English Literature at university.<\/p>\n
He began his industry career as an artist manager, launching All On Red Management in 2006. Early success included guitar act One Night Only, who signed to Mercury and had a big single with Just For Tonight, reaching No.9 in the UK charts.<\/p>\n
Oborne began managing The 1975, who became the first signing to Dirty Hit alongside Benjamin Francis Leftwich in the face of multiple rejections from existing labels.<\/p>\n
1975 frontman Matthew Healy presented Oborne with Sir George Martin Award at MBW\u2019s 2018 A&R Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview with MBW in 2016<\/a>, Jamie Oborne said, \u201cI\u2019m very strict on making sure that my artists are financially aware and are not squandering income when they earn it.
