Early success included guitar act One Night Only, who signed to Mercury and had a big single with Just For Tonight, reaching No.9 in the UK charts.<\/p>\n<p>Oborne began managing The 1975, who became the first signing to Dirty Hit alongside Benjamin Francis Leftwich in the face of multiple rejections from existing labels.<\/p>\n<p>1975 frontman Matthew Healy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/who-won-ar-awards-in-london-last-night\/\">presented Oborne with Sir George Martin Award at MBW\u2019s 2018 A&amp;R Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6>jamie oborne: management philosophy<\/h6>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/managers-should-make-decisions-on-reason-logic-and-knowing-their-artists\/\">an interview with MBW in 2016<\/a>, Jamie Oborne said, \u201cI\u2019m very strict on making sure that my artists are financially aware and are not squandering income when they earn it.
